Israel is the Founder & CEO of NPI Governance Consulting and Noko Pioneer Investments (an Broad-Based Investment holdings company). Israel is a former Canadian Trade Commissioner and a Law graduate from the University of Warwick and Coventry University, UK. He is passionate about the intentions behind Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (“BEE”), and pioneering equitable growth in Africa. Israel’s experience has focussed on developing and executing strategies which would enable companies to better position themselves in the market, and develop partnerships with companies and organizations that want to implement “business-sense” enterprise development, socio-economic development and BEE strategies.

Israel has been involved in various BEE mergers and acquisitions (the largest deal being valued at US$2,9 billion), and has also advised on BEE joint venture structures, company formations and re-organisations. Having worked with a number of multinational clients, Israel has advised on the implementation of Equity Equivalents, BEE compliance and has strong relations with the Department of Trade & Industry, the BEE Commission, the verification industry and various transformation stakeholders. Israel serves on the Boards of a variety of organisations including the BankSETA, MicroFinance South Africa, and Inyathelo: the South African Institute for Advancement.

Fr Michael Lapsley (SSM) is a South African Anglican priest and social justice activist who has worked in many countries in Africa and across the world. In 1998 he established the Institute for Healing of Memories (IHOM) in Cape Town. This organisation works with groups including those affected by political violence, those affected by and infected with HIV and AIDS, refugees, asylum seekers, prisoners and war veterans. Fr Lapsley is presently the Honorary Consul for New Zealand in Cape Town.

Dr Riaan Van Tonder is a medical doctor. He has worked in the private and public sectors in South Africa and the United Kingdom. He has held various roles in multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

He holds an MBChB degree from the University of Pretoria, an MBL from Unisa and a Diploma in Obstetrics from the College of Medicine South Africa.
